Our Story

We've spent our careers building technology for financial institutions. But when we needed help managing our own families' finances and those of our aging parents, we saw a problem we couldn't ignore.

Every advisor we spoke to was drowning in documents - spending hours per client reviewing paperwork to build a holistic view of their client's lives. It was clear this wasn't a technology problem waiting to happen. It was already happening, and it was only getting worse.

With one in five advisors retiring in the next five years and client expectations continuing to rise, we knew this bottleneck would become existential. So, we built Kete to supercharge advisors, giving them the ability to get to the information they need faster and enabling them to spend more time with their clients, not documents.

Daniel

Daniel Cross
(Chief Executive Officer)

Daniel spent over a decade in fintech at DST and SS&C, building and leading analytics and digital divisions. At DST, the SaaS products in his division reached 85% of U.S. financial advisors, giving him deep insight into how advisors operate and the pain points they face.

Earlier, Daniel was a co-founder at Lateral Group in London, an integrated communications business acquired by DST Systems. This experience gave him rare expertise bridging back-office financial systems with client-facing tools. When advisors told him, "We're drowning in documents," Daniel knew exactly what to build.

James Londal

James has been building advanced data management and AI systems for over 20 years, with deep experience in financial services at DST Systems. Over the past decade, he has helped global brands—including Google, PlayStation, and TCCC—leverage AI and machine learning to optimize marketing spend at scale.

James specializes in commercializing cutting-edge technology, turning complex data systems into actionable solutions—exactly the skill set needed to tackle wealth management’s document and workflow challenges.

What is a Kete?

A kētē is a traditional New Zealand flax basket created by the indigenous Māori people. Kete are woven by hand to store important and useful things. In Māori legend Tāne, the god of the forests, brought knowledge to mankind in three kētē, which when combined provided wisdom to guide the people.

Their creation forms bonds amongst the weavers, and as baskets they support the storage and sharing of valuable items for individuals and the community.

Like the fibers in a woven basket, Kete creates strength from connections and patterns.
